Penang Bridge Mess-e36.png is the longest bridge in Southeast Asia and the third longest in the world. It adalahsepanjang 13.5 kilometers of which 8.4 kilometers from across the sea. It connects the Jelutong Expressway in Bayan Lepas, Penang to the mainland peninsula in Seberang Perai.
The construction works started in 1982 and completed in 1985, only 3 years and it is costing a total of RM 850 million. This bridge brought pride to the nation. It is recognized as an outstanding engineering achievement in the world. This is because the structure of the center is one of the cable-retaining bridge (cable-stayed bridge) is the earliest in the world.
